True Consent (2022)
True Consent (2022) is a sculptural work made out of 11 books containing the privacy policy of each app found on my phone and 14 legislations that govern the collection of data between different parties and the public in Singapore. By physically printing out these documents; the books address the issue of true consent in regard to online data collection by visualizing the amount of labour and difficulties in protecting one’s privacy. In addition, a video for a performance titled 4 Hours 6 Mins and 45 Seconds (2022) incorporates the reading of the PDPA 2012 - showcasing the immense length of time needed to read just one of the many regulations compiled within the book sculpture.

The World is Flat After All (2022): The World is Flat After All marked the first art gallery exhibition of Gentle Resistance. The artworks were displayed at a staircase dwelling, strategically placed for public passage to the gallery’s second floor. The installation featured dummy surveillance cameras, symbolizing the presence of public surveillance, making individuals feel exposed and unable to escape, just like real surveillance cameras in public spaces.
Small Talk (2023): Small Talk is an exhibition presented by Modern Art Society Singapore at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Center for SAW23. It features True Consent from the Gentle Resistance series, where 11 data privacy books are displayed on a ladder bench in the gallery. Viewers are invited to sit on the bench and browse through the books, engaging with the artwork intimately.
