It is a “basic” fact most people want a safe and secure living environment (2022)
It is a “basic” fact most people want a safe and secure living environment (2022) is a subversive art installation fitted at the staircase landing of block B at Lasalle. The installation is placed in the middle of a staircase landing where individuals heading up have “nowhere to run” but to pass the cameras - speaking about the inescapability of the surveillance machinery in Singapore. One of the camera’s lenses is covered with a coat of paint, marked by a member of the public - perhaps a reply to the fear of being watched. 37 cameras were used to represent 37 years of the artist’s life under surveillance from the registration of the birth certificate till now.

Exhibitions and Presentations
My Hands on My Seat (2022): My Hands on My Seat is an exhibition held at Winsted Campus, Lasalle, showing the entire collection of final-year projects from the Fine Arts graduating cohort. The exhibition features the full series of Gentle Resistance (2022), comprising a total of 5 works.
The World is Flat After All (2022): The World is Flat After All marked the first art gallery exhibition of Gentle Resistance. The artworks were displayed at a staircase dwelling, strategically placed for public passage to the gallery’s second floor. The installation featured dummy surveillance cameras, symbolizing the presence of public surveillance, making individuals feel exposed and unable to escape, just like real surveillance cameras in public spaces.
